Encrypted Preference Files
Lavasoft Ad-Aware SE 1.06 Personal has encrypted preference files that harden it against third party uninstall attempts. However, that is only the beginning. There are many other important new things.

Scanning Engine Improvements
The scanning engine has a variety of important improvements. All modules loaded into memory by a process are now scanned. Extended memory space is scanned. Process modules now can be unloaded as necessary to protect against DLL-injection. A new Code Sequence Identification technology now identifies unknown variants of known targets.

Windows Registry Scanning Improvements
Windows Registry scanning has been extended. Dynamically-created references are now checked. Registry branches of multiple user-accounts are now scanned. Extended scanning for both known and unknown Browser-Hijackers has been added. The Registry scanning speed is noticeably faster.

Extended Disk Scanning
The new release features extended disk scanning. Windows Cabinet files, including spanned-archives, are now scanned. Alternate data-streams on Windows NTFS volumes are scanned and listed. Disk drive scanning also is noticeably faster than with Ad-Aware 6.0.

Faster Reference File Downloading
Ad-Aware SE 1.06 Personal uses much smaller reference files than were used by Ad-Aware 6.0.
